- Although the majority of patients report only a slight warming of the skin and a little prickling sensation, an optional numbing cream can be applied for about 15min to ensure this treatment is as comfortable as possible.
- A light layer of Spectra Carbon Lotion is then applied to your skin, akin to wearing a mud mask, before treatment with the laser starts. As this treatment is gentle on the skin, multiple passes with the laser occurs during the course of each session, to ensure optimal results. The first pass of the laser sets the special carbon lotion onto the skin, and subsequent passes of the laser lightly removes the Spectra Lotion, heating dermis at the same and lightly ablating the top layer of dead skin, to reveal glowing, youthful looking skin. You will hear snapping sounds as this occurs and feel a warm tingling sensation.
